On the road to ya.

ing in colorado.

got
I have a bad memory. That is one of the clear cut attributes that I have been blessed with. So, in telling my story of my travels to Utah, the tale will be vague, and terribly non-specific. I got on the road, with lots of people fearing for the life of my car. It made it though, pretty happy about it. I woke up the morning I was supposed to leave via my internal clock. My alarm was set, but didn't go off. My alarm is on my phone, and my phone died as I slept. So, I was about to embark on my journey into the unknown with a dying car and no phone. In all reality, I don't think it's that bad. People have always driven crappy cars across the country, even before cell phones, so with that logic, I was all set. Driving through NY took a long time, I knew that was a big step, getting through NY. The first day I traveled from Hooksett, NH to somewhere past Toledo Ohio. I slept in my car that night at a truck stop. I unfolded my crash pad in my back seat as much as I could, and thank you... thank you... thank you... to my mom, who hooked me up with a little travel bag that she recieved from a recent trip to Ireland which contained a sleeping mask. WOW!! It was better than I could have ever imagined, also, it made me feel very fancy. I slept pretty well under the circumstances... The back seat of the Yota is pretty small, and I had to share with Tenor. So, we got up and drove the next day to the middle of Nebraska somewhere. That day, while we were driving through Iowa we drove into a pretty gnarley thunderstorm. Really dark clouds, lots of lightning, you know, every few seconds or so. I could barely see. As you will notice is any picture taken from inside of my car, the passenger side section of the windshield is nastily smothered in Tenor nose residue. That decreased visibilty by 72%. I drove pretty freakin slow in that storm, and was lovin the ride. After the storm, an absolutely stunning, double rainbow came out. I got lost in it as I swerved across lanes lost in ecstasy of color and surrality. Is that a real word? It might be, because no red line popped up underneath it. Wow, I really thought I was making up a moderately clever word. Tenor has been doing this cute thing for about 6 months now. When we are riding in the car, sometimes he will want me to pet his chest, and he lifts his paw up high, underneath my hand and rests his paw on my wrist, as he stares into emptiness, filled with bliss. I love it, and it's come to a point to where I know how to inspire him to do it, in order to fulfill my desires of adorableness. Tenor was ok with the trip. He knew something big was happening. He looked confused by the fact that we were continually driving, with no reward at the end of the day. He's used to having somewhere cool to hang out usually if we drive far away. He's a great travel dog, and pretty much passed out for the entire trip. When we hit Nebraska, I was pretty tired. I found a Wal-Mart right off the highway and parked in the back next to a couple of Mobile homes. I spoke to this nice guy from Ohio for a while. He was a farmer and he was going to visit his boys and do some fly fishing. Then I spoke a little bit later to this other guy who was also in a mobile home. He was driving to Maine from Washington state. He was an interesting dude. Definitely a dog park regular. He had a dog with him and he was all about the dog culture.

  2. Yay! You're blogging! I love it, it's funny, I want to read more! The title may be my favorite... and the word surrality (which, for the record, causes a red line on my screen!) Talk Soon!

  4. Wow...I've got to say I give you props! It's funny...cause I can picture you every word that you say. I can clearly picture you just drooling over that absolutely gorgeous rainbow. I can picture you freaking out in excitement over the thunderstorm while poor Tenor is probably freaking out in terror. I can picture you and Tenor sprawled out on that crash pad. Nice job! Oh...and P.S...your comment about the "Tenor nose residue"...I've got them in my car window also...and I just don't have the heart to windex them away...
